Membership Rules and Guidelines

Announcement: new membership rules and guidelines.
Attention would be members and old members, these rules have been approved by the board and will be followed accordingly.

Article IV

Section 1
Any person shall be eligible for membership upon screening and approval of the Membership Committee. Applicants should be of legal age, of good moral character and must have no criminal record. Any minor willing to join the group must present a letter of parent's consent.

All freshmen will undergo evaluation for six (6) months. Should the freshman meet the qualifications and upon recommendation of the Committee, the freshman would have earned the distinction of becoming a regular member of MDPC.

Section 2
All members must pay an annual fixed fee, agreed upon by the membership. Fees are due by August 1 of the current year (Anniversary), covering up to July 30 of the following year. Should a member fail to pay the annual fee by December 31 of current year, said member shall be charged a 10% fine.

Upon its birth in 2008, the agreed amount is P500 annually.

Member ranking
New Members (Freshmen)
Upon filling up of forms, and payment of annual dues, new members shall be furnished with a temporary id and will be included in the list of members who will be regularly invited in activities, contest, programs and seminars. Members shall have a 10% discount from seminars organized by the club. New members shall have the privilege of printing their competition photo entries for the monthly competition at Photo line located in SM Marikina. A new member shall be a candidate to be an active member.

For a new member to be an active member
A new member should earn at least 100 points to become an active member. New members shall earn 5 points for attending seminars, meetings and activities. Points shall also be rewarded for joining the club contest; 1 point shall be given to every entry in competitions, 5 points shall be awarded for winning the first place, 3 points for winning the second place and 2 points for winning the third place in the competition. 10 points shall also be given to new members for recruiting a new member.

Regular Member
An active member shall be given a MDPC member photographer’s ID and shall have the full privileges of 50% discount on all prints at Photo line in SM Marikina. An active member shall be a candidate to be an official member.

An active member shall be an official member if he maintains active participation of all the seminars, meetings, contests, and activities. An active member shall be given promotion after evaluation of the official members every July of each year. Evaluation shall be on merits of good conduct; active participation to activities, programs, meetings and seminars; and committed actions to promote MDPC.

Official Member
An official member shall be given the Official MDPC Media ID and will be a candidate for being one of the officers of MDPC. An official member will have the privilege in representing the club to major events that the club will join. An official member shall be given the privilege to evaluate the promotion, demotion, continuation of the membership of active and new members.

All ranks of membership shall be evaluated every July for the promotion, demotion or continuation of their rank in the club. MDPC reserves the right to demote, promote or maintain membership. MDPC also reserves the right to refuse the renewal of the members or discontinue the membership of any person that is proven to have demonstrated misconduct that may expose MDPC to any difficulty. MDPC reserves the right to amend and modify these rules and guidelines if established appropriate and necessary.
This MDPC membership is being implemented for the purpose of the following:
1.   Upgrade the quality of MDPC members.
2.   Ensure prolongation, development and growth of the club through MDPC members.
3.   Assurance that all members shall understand the value of being a part of MDPC
4.   Promote dedication and enthusiasm in the art of Photography.

Section 3
The membership reserves the right to punish a member who may damage the reputation and good standing of the organization. Any member may be removed by majority vote of the entire board of chairmen and associates, at any business meeting of the organization. Expelled members may be allowed to rejoin the organization upon application to the membership, one year after expulsion and a majority vote of the entire official members. Expelled members must be able to prove their worth should they decide to join the group again.
