hi! this is anthony. im not a full pledge member and just a newbie in photography. i joined scott kelby photowalk in marikina with my friends. it was a great experience and nice people there that made us feel like a pro. i've seen the entries and it all inspired me but except one, the photo who had won. (no offensement with the photographer). well, i just wanna ask, what are the criteria that u consider in choosing that photo? bcoz in my opinion, as a beginner, i was looking for the elements in photography. i think it was very plain and simple, it never catches our attention. that in fact, it was the least of our choices, or should we say that it was never our choice. pls, i just want to know the reason why u chose that photo. im hoping for your reply. thanks and more power to MDPC. hmmm... just giving my opinion. ok naman yung litrato. i like it. ok yung eksena, ok din yung pag kaka pp medyo kakaiba pero ok sya. cropping medyo bitin para sa akin but its good. i dont know the criteria on choosing the photo on this group pero para sa akin ok ang napili nila Cheesy

looking from the previous years' scott kelby photowalk winners, as a beginner's humble opinion, those 'elements' in photography that you were trying to say.... don't really matter  Smiley

for me, the group's chosen photo isn't bad at all.. yun nga lang parang walang masyado mapagpilian.. konti kasi nagsubmit  Kiss

antayin natin mga strong explanations ng mga masters hehe

i value your opinion anthony. and of course you are entitled to it. the contest has no specific theme and is very broad that is why it is very difficult to judge which one is the best picture.

if in fact the photo that caught my attention did not catch your attention at all then it only shows that we really have different perspective when it comes to appreciating which one is beautiful and which one is not.

and so again i say, i respect your opinion that what i have chosen is not the best for you, but for me that was the best among the 10 images submitted. criteria? well, the picture that caught my attention the first time i saw them as a set, that wins for me.

the comment below is right, when there's no specific theme then its very difficult to put all the "elements" in photography for you to consider a winner, or else there would not be any winner at all.

i would also like to add that the contest has not ended yet, scott kelby has not chosen as of this time who the winners are, hence its very premature to say that that image is not inspiring at all... Grin ... malay natin..ma inspire sya! hehehe! Cheesy

Quote from anthony eliseo:

hi sir!  the photo you have chosen reflects on your team's image, so is your decision. have you consulted the group? coz like what u've said, we have different perspective. what is beautiful for you might not be beautiful for them and vice-versa, but atleast the majority would decide. thank you for listening to my opinion. maybe i'll attend your anniversary to learn more about photography. thanks!

have i consulted the group? no i did not because i asked some other persons to judge the images to minimize biases.
scott kelby gave the decision to the walk leader to decide how the images are judged.
thank you for your opinions. maybe we will apply that rule in the next scott kelby contest. Grin
